Re: question about dual layer authoring/layer break

he was right in that the total time is 112 mins. but I like to keep a high bitrate and use LPCM audio so the rest of what he said goes out the window. if it were episodes of the office I'd use divx but since it's a show I filmed I'm making a dvd

thanks pawel for the tips. looks like I am splitting it though. I'd hate for anyone to have to deal with the pause/jump at the break. I can figure out how to burn it right but most leechers won't.

so for the office you prefer high quality results

but for something you took the time and effort to film yourself you prefer 1990 technology, interesting

Granted alot of people use h264 and divx at lower bitrate to create super small file sizes but the reality is that at a bitrate of 2000kbps or higher in h264 and divx you are getting MUCH better than DVD quality results in 1/4 the file size of DVD mpeg2

Granted a DVD at 8000kbps with Lpcm is going to look good, but for a 2 hour show that means something like 9 gigs

I just did a 2h14m show in divx at a bitrate of 2700kbps video, 224kbps mp3 audio and it is 2.65 gigs and will play in a divx compatible DVD player and in virtually DV quality

I will be torrenting it here and on u2torrents this weekend, you should take a look

You won't be torrenting it here. It doesn't meet our quality standards.

If you want to discuss divx and how it relates to our standards please start another thread and review our seeding guidelines.
