download upload big help

hi everyone. ive started to d/l some torrents and ive noticed that my dl ratio is bigger that my upload. what does the numbers in red mean. i want to follow the site rules and make it fair on everyone. if it helps i use bitlord and i have the ul dl settings both on no limit. i appreciate all help and advice. ps this site absolutely rocks

numbers in red are your share ratio. It should be above 1.0 to be fair. that means you have given as much as you have taken, data-wise. Almost everyone's home connection will have a much faster download than upload, so you'll likely need to leave the torrent running after it completes to send back enough data to reach a 1.0 ratio on that torrent.

We do not enforce share ratios here. They are there so you can enforce your own. Give more than you get and ye shall receive peace and happiness

splumer, since you are on a PC, you may want to try utorrent. A lot of PC users use it and say it doesn't hog resources like azureus does.
