File not found??? Really confused :(
I have a Windoxs 2003, I have Azureus and got some torrents from demonoid.com.
I downloaded already and am in the processing of seeding, when I click on the torrent to view, I've tried to open it with Realplayer,QuickTime, and WIndnows Media player. It says Windows can't play the file becuase the file can't be located, then it asks if I want to locate it myself, when I do that it says that file name is invalid. I have 3 files all from the same site, same person, same type( I think ) but only one of them actually works, the other 2 are not viewable. The rude people from demonoid said I should get VLC player and update Codec Can someone please help?? No members have liked this post.

Re: File not found??? Really confused :(
Well, you can read our FAQ on BitTorrent Help, or you can go ask at demonoid for help since we don't know exactly what types of files you downloaded (you didn't tell us the extensions).
(VLC is a great video (DVD) player. If you have video files, you should take their advice and download VLC.)

Quote:
2) Quit using azureus and use uTorrent instead. 3) You are getting the error message because your torrent client assyoureeus is locking the files when you seed. See if there is an option to make it stop doing that, otherwise unsintall it and do step (2) - above.

Re: File not found??? Really confused :(
you didn't ask about an extension.
What extension are you looking for?

Re: File not found??? Really confused :(
on pc right-click properties and it should tell you the extension. there's also a way to get windows to display extensions in teh folder settings if you fish around a little.

Re: File not found??? Really confused :(
Ah, an AVI file, which is itself a container format (i.e. it could possibly contain one of many formats inside the file). It's highly likely your file is a DivX video, since that codec can reside in AVI containers. Do yourself a favor and download VLC. It'll play DivX and pretty much anything else you throw at it: http://www.videolan.org/vlc/features.html
VLC is free (open-source to be precise) and it won't take up much room at all (it's a 9 MB download). It's like the foobar2000 of video players. What I still want to know is why you're doing desktop stuff on a server OS. No members have liked this post.

Re: File not found??? Really confused :(
You don't have to get VLC - you can just download the DIVX player. Google DIVX PLAYER. Once the codec is installed you can play Divx with Windows Media PLayer &/or the Divx player itself. Or VLC. Or anything else, really.

Re: File not found??? Really confused :(
VLC is better... you don't need any codecs installed for vid to play on it, it is a self-contained swiss army knife.
