lossy or high compression MD?

so I recieved a show (Mars Volta 2006-02-02) directly from the taper, and I know it was recorded to MD. But it sounds lossy to me, especially the cymbals. Although, there are none of the underwaterey noises I usually find. Can anyone take a look at these spectrals and let me know if they are lossy or just possibly an LP4 minidisc recording?

Re: lossy or high compression MD?

this totally looks like md on a lower quality setting. md is inherently lossy with the small exception of some newer models which can record lossless. lossless md is still rare these days.
