Cannot save .torrent file when uploading
Cannot save .torrent file when uploading
I select Upload Torrent, Attach my file, upload attachment, and get Tab Benoit Kessler 16 BIT.torrent: Upload of file failed. If this is a torrent upload failure, see list of common causes on the Upload Page. I tried on FireFox and IE, popup blockers off, change .torrent name, but it still fails. any hints? thanks No members have liked this post.

Re: Cannot save .torrent file when uploading
If you get a torrent upload error ("Upload of file failed" or being returned to this page), here are a couple things to look for:
- your announce url may be incorrect. Open the torrent in a text editor and make sure the announce url above is listed near the top of the torrent file. There should be a number "56" in front of the announce url. Also, make sure it isn't truncated - it should not have any "..." in the middle of it! Correct: http://www.thetradersden.org/forums/...r/announce.php Wrong: http://www.thetradersden.org/forums/...r/announce.php - the file size is too big. Some torrent making applications make HUGE torrent files. Try using Azureus or uTorrent to make the torrent file. - the torrent is already on the tracker. The tracker looks at the torrent hash. To get by this, change your text file slightly and make a new torrent. Also, give the torrent file a slightly different name. If your torrent uploads fine, but then when you hit submit you get kicked back to this page: - look to see if there are errors listed above the form. They will be in bold red. - if there are no errors, it is probably that you reached the max length of the thread title or thread body. So, remove some of the text (you have to have some in the text boxes or you will get a bold red error) and after you are successful uploading the thread, you may add additional information in the second post.

Re: Cannot save .torrent file when uploading
I shortened the file name and same error, but no red errors. tracker url is correct. I can upload these attachment pics, so, that proves the uploader works...

Re: Cannot save .torrent file when uploading
How large is the torrent file? Can you open it with a text editor and look at the lines around the announce url - what is the number before it (it's serialized data). Or, just copy paste the first couple lines here in [ code ] tags.

Re: Cannot save .torrent file when uploading
That all looks fine.
What application are you using to create the .torrent file? Do you have another that you can try?
