A file set with the same .ffps was banned as lossy elsewhere. Since the torrent is running here,
http://www.thetradersden.org/forums/showthread.php?t=83374
I ask for confirmation if it truly is lossless.

G'day A. I wouldn't necessarily call them lossy but that second set of pic's has had a lot of "work" done to it. How does it sound ? Is it "strangled" ?

Hiya, T!
Thanks for the input. It is studio outs, has a bit of hum, and can be muddy in places, clear in others, and hot in some, but doesn't sound 'strangled' to me ;-)
'Course, it's 70's RS from TSP..

To be honest, I haven't seen Specs like these before (I'm only learning) and would hazard to guess that something was done in the studio to get that sort of display.
Considering that there is no definitive cut-off within the Specs I would not call for lossy.

Not at all sure it is relevant to this discussion, but the tracker was not my father's tracker .

This is lossy, I did the banning myself! Whether it is from conversion to MP3 or heavily filtered? That is up for discussion...

The tracks I tested have nothing over 16k... I mean nothing... Obviously, you have seen my post with the graphs, you can see the zoom to the top end shows no data over 16k... It is entirely black on the close up.

Sorry! I know its from silvers, but unfortunitely that means nothing these days! :(

having nothing over 16k means nothing, either.

still have yet to see a good spectrum analyzer pic for this topic.

Needs to be
1) from Cool Edit or Adobe Audition
2) in color
3) 2-3 span

There are plenty tapes that have no high frequencies due to equipment / age, etc. Lossy data compression tells a different tale and will be obvious if someone will follow the instructions above.

yeah, i see none of the tell tale blockiness from the pics above...proper SA pics would help, or post a few 20 sec samples from various parts

Well now that makes perfect sense!!!

It really depends on what the site will allow to seed. Some trackers allow lossy formats, some dont. Some allow Minidisk, some dont! I think that may very well be the case here!

Perhaps that will clear it up! I no longer have to torrent so I cant make any more SA's...
