Strange Ffp

Ok, so today i was gonna take a shn show from shn to flac. I verified the shns with no prob then used TLH to go to wav. I then used flac frontend to make them flacs. In all cases I kept the original files and I tried several times but here is the ffp i got for the show each time.

you notice track 18 is all 0's. I have never seen this before. I listened to the track and it sounds fine. There were no errors reported by flac frontend on encoding. Has anyone ever seen this before?

Nope. Did you try making an st5 to see if you get the same thing? And an st5 off the wav files would be interesting too.

That's strange that it's all zeros... I think RainDawg said he saw something like this once.

obviously the zeros are what disturbs me, especially since theres no audible differences between the original shn track and the flac track. I cant find any info on flac frontend that duplicates this fingerprint. The thing that really gets me is the track sounds totally normal whether played in the original shn format, the decoded wav, or the encoded flac......

Re: Strange Ffp

I saw this once but it was an error on my part I think and I can't recall what caused it?

Re: Strange Ffp

I wonder whether that's caused by the file being locked for access by another program?

Hey, month ago I didn't know what I was talking about. Wait a minute, I still don't.

It's an shntool md5 which fingerprints the actual audio data. So if you make one for the flac and one for the wav they should match.

Here's a batch file for it that will make it in txt format. You can paste this into a txt file, give it the .bat extension and then drag your folder onto it and it will make the txt file in the folder. It will do the wavs and the flacs at the same time and list them separately in the file.

@echo off
%~d1 & cd %*
for %%T in (shn flac wav ape) do if exist *.%%T shntool md5 *.%%T >> "%~n1.st5"
pause
