Upload Speed Problems

I am relatively new to this, so excuse me if this is a stupid question. While downloading at a decent rate, my upload speed is stuck at either 1 or 0 kbs. Is there something I can do about this? What does this mean? I want it the upload to go faster and I am used to seeing the two speeds pretty close together. They are usually either both slow or both fast. I'm just trying to get this right.

this has been happening to me recently as well... download speeds as good as ever but uploads running under 3kbs and they drop until I restart. it could be that there's not enough peers for the speed to pick up... not sure. Just this last week it's been really bad. Is anybody else experiencing something like this?

I'm uploading as the starter around 80-100 kB/s yesterday and today....

I've been uploading just fine the last couple of days.

To the original poster, what show are you trying to grab? How many peers/leechers are there on it? If you hop on at the end and there are several seeds and only a couple of leechers, they aren't going to need much of your upload rate and yet you will have lots of people to download from.
