There have been people who have posted here that are having problems and have Comcast service, so I would not rule out that your problem is Comcast. Some users have said they have success getting around Comcast's effort to throttle their bittorrent activity by using the encryption in their bt client. You may want to look into that.

wow.. u r really doing some hard work for me... i went into system prefs and the only thing checked was "network time" so i took that out.... well see if that changes anything... thank you again!

But, right above Network Time, does it say "Firewall Off" and then have a "Start" button?

oh okay awesome, thanks. yeah i had verizon before and never had a problem. i am pretty much sick of everything comcast has to offer anyways. now that verizon offers a cable service around here i might just make the switch back.
