Unhappy I want to see the green light

Its still yellow, though I have turned off the firewall (basic XP firewall<- didnt find anything more on it), I have turned off the virus protection and also the automatic updates are off.

I use Bit tornado and when I set it to force the icon to turn into green when firewalled it showed green

Any help is appriciated

Re: I want to see the green light

you will need to forward the bittorrent ports (probably 6881-6889) that your bt client is using.

Re: I want to see the green light

Sounds like you're on a router.

Go here:

http://www.portforward.com/routers.htm

Find your router model and follow the instructions.

What BT client are you using?

Re: I want to see the green light

I have been trying to overcome the same problem for some time now and can't find any success. Bit Tornado is the only client I could get to DL without having to jump thru impossible hoops. I'm not a techno geek and if anybody knows an easier way that would be greatly appreciated. PM me if you have a list and want to trade. I would like to say it's nice to know I'm not alone, but it isn't. good luck, Ron

I use Bit Tornado as well, and its a great simple client to use. Like I said, i have had a yellow light for months now, and it has not affected my dl or upload speeds. I am able to seed just fine.

Re: I want to see the green light

Are either of you actually showing up as firewalled on this site?

i.e. when you look at the list of peers on the tracker here, does it show you in red paranthesis?

Re: I want to see the green light

How does one look at the list of peers on the tracker to find out if I am in red paranthesis?

Click on the "statistics" button in the first post of the thread while you're downloading or uploading.

Re: I want to see the green light

Yeah, even if you're firewalled/yellow/NAT affected you can still get good connections. You can connect to non-firewalled people, you just can't connect to another person in the same condition.

I wouldn't leave yourself without firewall and virus protection though, that's pretty risky.

Don't know why you can't get to green. You can always go for a drive, plenty of green lights out there.
