Video Editing Program

I was wondering if anyone can give me some info on a free(or free trial) of a quality video editing program. I want to cut out some unwanted parts of a DVD, and want a program where I can decrypt the DVD, then edit. No BS. I don't want any program that will turn my video files into shitty AVI stuff. Can anyone give me any help? Thanks so much.

VideoReDo is a frequently recommended program for cutting and splicing DVDs. http://www.videoredo.com/en/index.htm - It's not free, but it does come with a 30 day trial.

When you say 'decrypt', do you mean remove copy protection from commerical DVDs? If so, the DVDFab Decrypter will do the job. -
http://www.dvdfab.com/free.htm It's free and is able to remove copy protection from almost every DVD.

Yep, excellent tool for precise cuts on the frame level. Re-encoding is minimal and not visible. I haven't tried DVD authoring feature as it (looks) very basic, and I'm happy with DVD Maestro.

Re: Video Editing Program

DanielG;

Thanks for recommending that program. It was easy to use, and does exactly what I need it to do.

I haven't tried authoring either, cause it does look basic. Not sure you can be fancy w/ the menus like in DVD-Lab Pro, which is what I use.
