Can't seed: torrent shows downloading not up

Using Transmission, created torrent of seed folder. Uploaded. Downloaded from the thread and Transmission shows it's trying to download the files.

Stumped, any insight much appreciated.

Re: Can't seed: torrent shows downloading not up

Is the show (the files) you're trying to upload in your downloads folder?
Try removing the torrent from Transmission and attempt again.
If that doesn't work, maybe something went wrong when making the torrent.

Re: Can't seed: torrent shows downloading not up

If it's trying to download, it's usually because you didn't do a recheck while stopped.

The process (some programs are smart enough to not need all steps):
1. Download your torrent file from the thread.
2. Load that file into your torrent program. Make sure it loads in the Stopped (or Paused) state (critical!).
3. Verify that your torrent data is in your download folder (or download temp folder if you are using that). Yes you seed from your download folder.
4. Right click and Recheck (sometimes called Force Recheck).
5. It should find your local data and checksum it to 100% (if not 100% something is amiss).
6. Right click and Start (or Resume) the torrent.
