Re: We've had a great 19 years!
This is sad new. Every morning with my coffee I look forward to seeing what is new here, and at Lossless. I LOVE this site and am so GRATEFUL for all the great music people have shared here over the years. THANK YOU to the Traders Den and all the kind folks of all flavors who have shared. I will sooooooooo miss this site. I wish you all the very best. Your Karma is clean and you deserve great things. Thank you, thank you, and thank you once more!!! - Onwards...

To enforce copyright laws is to prevent people from making peaceful use of the information they possess. If one has acquired the information legitimately it is a violation of freedom of speech to prevent one from using it, reproducing it, trading it. Information is a universal, existing in other people's minds and other people's property, and over these the originator has no legitimate sovereignty. Copyright laws extort from the public a reward enormously in excess of the labor measure of an entertainers' services, making them, in essence, discriminatory against anyone paid a single time for a job. The only way there will ever be balance is when we are either all paid ad infinitum for work we did years ago, or when they are not. Until then I will fight for the freedom of information by challenging copyright law every chance I get. Join the Pirate Party and help make a difference. Re: We've had a great 19 years!
Folks, you know like I do that we need this site to keep on keeping on. Nothing quite like it out there! I mean, sorta, but not really.
I just asked an old friend if there's any chance he can help, and he's looking into some stuff. Commodore 64 buddy in high school, I forgot about computers for decades while he made them his work. Knows his stuff, and then some! I have a feeling that he might be able to help save us. No promises, and I can't speak for him, but I can quote him: Quote:

More to come!

Re: We've had a great 19 years!
Fingers crossed that someone with the skillset (and presumably, time) takes on the task of keeping this all going. In the meantime, thanks to those who've done so behind the scenes throughout TTD's lifespan.
Best possible wishes too to xavier to hopefully get safely through a personal situation that must make our angst about losing the site seem quite trivial in comparison. Thanks for what was done to keep this going during the 2022 crisis, and best of luck moving forward. |

Re: We've had a great 19 years!
sad news to read.... you have done a great job picking up the baton in 2022 and carrying it this far. I hope with this mass membership there are a few folks that can help out on the tech side. Id be willing to help housing, but id be terrible at the actual up keep and coding for the site. ugggh. what a crime and loss. thank you again for all you have done. Ive been around on here for many years over a decade like many of you. heres to ya all!! and heres to the folks that i know will come out of the wood work to help. Help on the way is how one band put it.

Re: We've had a great 20 years!
Not sure if it's of any use, but I have heard good things about Claude 3.5 Sonnet for programming and web design. Might be of use to anyone with difficult to find answers on transitioning the site's 2004 tech to modern forms. It seems to know about PHP and vBulletin from what I asked it. But most of that stuff is way over my head to know if it's detailed enough or correct.

Hoping TTD gets a lifeline ... and if not, it has been a great ride. Thanks to all for the tunes.
