Sony PCM-M1 and D8

Hi there, i have one question. I've found some old gigs that i've dloaded some month ago. Few of them have only the source info Sony PCM-M1. Are all that gigs now DAT recordings, so means PCM-M1 or D8 always DAT ??

if the source info is either pcm-m1 or tcd-d8 then yes it is a dat recording

so it depends on the mics?? For example i have the info:

Sony TCD-D8 with Sonic Studio DSM6s Mics (w/PA-6LC3 roll off adapter @85Hz)

No, a DAT depends on a DAT. What's on the DAT, however, is anyone's guess until someone listens to it. It could be an audience recording, soundboard, ALD, etc.
