i keep getting this error

hey i keep getting the error "couldnt listen - unable to forward port via upnp" every time i try to get something how can i fix this

You are getting that error where? In what program? I think you need to be a bit more specific about what is going on.

when i start d/l a video when it goes to bit torrent the d/l says starting up then it just sits there for like 20 seconds and then i get that error

I googled the error and got this:

Basically, the client you are using is trying to enable the correct ports for BT traffic and it's having problems.

Most of the time, it's the router. You probably have a Dlink,Linksys, etc box attached betwen your Internet connection and your computer. If yes,
1. Grab your user manual.
2. Log into your router per the manual.
3. Find the uPnP selection and enable it.
-> Note, some older routers requires you to upgrade the firmware.
4. If this doesn't help, go to http://portforwarding.com for model specific forwarding.

If you cannot enable uPnP, you need to manually forward the ports 6991-6999 to your local system IP.

i dont have the manual but i do have a router what would be the best way to go about fixing the problem this happend before like twice awhile ago but both times it started working again fin but its been like 2 weeks this time last time it was like 2 days

Go to portforward.com and select your router model number and then your bittorrent client and it will give you directions on how to forward your ports.
