MAC software for audio cleaning, editing etc.

I've lately switched from PC to MAC and now I'm about to have my old PC recycled, but before I give it up for good I'd like to know if there's anything inexpensive for the MAC that compares to the following prgs I always used on the PC:

Audio Cleaning Lab 5 (Pinnacle) - esp. declicking, denoising, de-crackle feature
Nero Editor - esp. noise filter, the different options for fading

Thanks a lot in advance for your advice!

Peak 4 LE by Bias is what I use to make red book compliant CDs. They are up to Peak 5 now. I can track, fade in and out, normalize, etc. I costs less than $100, if you catch a sale even better. I bought mine at guitar center. They priced matched the lowest price I could find online from a legitimate retailer. Look into it.

Peak is an excellent program - it has a steep learning curve though, that's why I suggested Sound Studio.

I've found Amadeus's sound repair centre quite useful at times when sample by sample manipulation in a zoomed-in Audacity is not an option.

Re: MAC software for audio cleaning, editing etc.

Sorry for reanimating this post, but I have tried audacity and I'm not satisfied. I really need a tool that does magic on old crackling vinyl records. Before I buy Peak LE 5 I need to know if I get the results I want. Anybody has any experience with what I want to do?
Your help is greatly appreciated.

Re: MAC software for audio cleaning, editing etc.

The thing about Peak is that you can write your own filters, etc. - this is quite tricky business. It is quite a lot further advanced than the Audio Cleaning Lab you've been using before. It will certainly do what you propose, but it will take you some time to figure out how to do it. I've only used it sparingly and that was under an older OS so I don't know what the current version does. Let me know what it is like when you deceide to get it.
