Burning double-layer DVD / DVD9
I've tried a couple of times to burn the Gov't Mule show to DVD. It's a big file and made for a dual layer disc. It's getting kind of expensive with the DVD9 price tag.
Here's what I get with Nero. See error further below. Re: Burning double-layer DVD / DVD9
I only use Nero to burn data DVDs only, not for videos.
For video, I use ImgBurn (imgburn.com). It's a free download, and rarely have a problem with it. Here's a thread to help guide you on burning a DVD9: http://forum.imgburn.com/index.php?showtopic=1780 No members have liked this post.

Re: Burning double-layer DVD / DVD9
I've found Nero likes to balk at burning DVDs. I second ImgBurn.
I've also read somewhere (I think the ImgBurn forum) that Verbatim makes the best dual-layer DVDs. Might be a bit more expensive but less coasters. Oh, and a decent DVD write drive doesn't hurt either. No members have liked this post.

A little overboard. Maybe a new burner, at most.

Re: Burning double-layer DVD / DVD9
Well I have a "Samung TSSTcorp CD/DVDW SH-S182M SB00" too.
Will that work any better? Both says DVD+R DL on the front. No members have liked this post.

Re: Burning double-layer DVD / DVD9
the last zero show you mention pauses/stops around the time of the layer switch.....
is this because of my burner, mac, DVD player, i dont know and i dont give a fuck. the issue is not present with dvd5... it seems much more stable for the general public. why make a dvd9 when we know all these problems(how many threads now)are present. whats wrong with 2 dvd5s that will work for alot more people with a lot less problems. bring on the blue rays

Re: Burning double-layer DVD / DVD9
I have zero issues burning them or watching them on my player. If you have issues with dual layers, what will you do when blu-ray's are more common?

Re: Burning double-layer DVD / DVD9
My comments are directed at you since you make it a point to whine about dvd9's in every thread that is started in technobabble. Had the OP spent the time using the search function instead of starting yet another thread, they would have found the likely solution. Nero notoriously has issues with dual layers...thus, Get ONES. After that it's usually a cheap disc issue. If it still doesn't work, burner or player.
How many threads/comments are there about "I can't deal with PAL, can this be in NTSC?" What's the answer to that...buy a new player that supports PAL. This is the same thing. No members have liked this post.

Re: Burning double-layer DVD / DVD9
first your only covering half of the problem...what should mac users do?
and right buy a new DVD player....im gonna do it..cause i wanna watch pal on my tv. so the same goes for the computer...if the burner say DVD DL and your running it internal or through firewire and i still does not work...time to upgrade.....(unless your computer is brand spankin new) seems to me the computer cant stream 8 gigs of music/video for as long as i take to finish the burn.........and how can this be fix'd? my comment might seem not cool or mean spirited but im being honest..... lets see what this lad comes up with for solution......

Re: Burning double-layer DVD / DVD9
Mac users can use Toast. That's what I've used and it's worked fine for me (for the ten or so DLs I've burned). I did have one problem DVD9 and so I just created an image file first and then burned it.
