I have had very few CDs fail on me over a period of 20 years. they hold up really well. I must have had 10,000 CDs and maybe 20 went bad.

what a mistake. invest your money on a backup hard drive. I have my entire music collection on drives at this point and each drive has a backup.

Not a mistake. I like listening to my CD's in my car, or playing on my portable on my deck. With the portable Cd player I can take my music anywhere. CD blanks aren't that expensive & have held up very well for me. Of course you are entitled to your opinion as I myself am.

Still holding out hope that someone will take the reigns and keep this wheel rolling. In the event not, thank you to all who have contributed to this site over the last 2 decades. TTD will be missed.

Re: We've had a great 20 years!

Well how nice for all the "members" to post here on this thread, now that the site is closing.
BUT what i really like to know is why some of you who posted here NOW, could never bother to even ONCE post a thank you on any of the shows you downloaded ??

When the site comes back if it every does, i hope the uploaders are given away to BLOCK downloaders who never contribute ANYTHING.

Re: We've had a great 20 years!

A real bummer to know we only have two weeks left of this wonderful site. I've had 3 different accounts on here over time.

To keep this site running for 20 years is an incredible achievement which, would never have been possible without those who run and look after things as well as all those who have contributed over the years.

It takes a lot of hard work to keep a site like this rolling. And to think of all the changes that have occurred over the past two decades? People have passed way, some have gotten married (and divorced), watched their kids grow up, had many job and life changes along with witnessing many of our icons like Bowie, Prince and Co. make their way up to heaven.

I've had 13 house moves, been married and then divorced, travelled the world, had a few relationships, lost my mother and had a cancer cut out in the time this site has been going. So many life changes but this place has been one of the constant sources of joy and entertainment. I've loved seeing all the amazing shows uploaded and all the wonderful contributors along with all the members who have made this place what it is. A wonderful treasure.

Thank you to everyone who helped keep this site going. I've had some really tough times over the years but you guys have always been here to keep my spirits up when the chips have been down. I cannot thank you enough for the joy you have shared.

Re: We've had a great 20 years!

I don't understand why so many people here seem to be frustrated about DIME...

Don't get me wrong, over time (I'm a member here for almost 19 years now) I've found great music here, and (virtually) met some great people; but the same applies to Dime.

Different trackers with different rules all right, but both have their place in the music-sharing community (as have others, I have an account on the Zomb, Lossless Legs, Electric Ladyland, Jane's to name a few).

And when you sign up/get an account on either, you have to follow their rules, that's what you sign up for after all...

I'm really going to miss this place if it should shut down, and thank all the people that have kept it going for all these years, but I don't see the point of talking other trackers down.
