Icon6 Firewalled in qBitorrent despite Port Forwarding-Workaround!

Just wanted to share something with folks here, I discovered last night after months of annoyance and watching my ratio on DIME go down the shitter, despite leaving torrents open for months.

I am not new to this torrent thing, and I've been forwarding ports for a couple decades, but after I switched to qBitorrent, which I am otherwise happy with, I noticed that I was showing up as "firewalled" on DIME, and sometimes on here, though not always. On TTD, this has not affected my seeding or my ratio, which is actually going up, the more I download, because I definitely seed for a long time, but on DIME, my uploads had been been mostly blocked, and even uploading my own torrents wasn't doing a damn thing to help.

Thought it was my ISP, but it turns out the newer versions of qBitorrent don't play nice with trackers, and I found this on the qBitorrent forums, and straight-up installed an older version (4.0.3.) right over the latest one, and it took a few minutes for it to check all the torrents I'm seeding, but it worked with few issues (I had to force-resume a few torrents, but minor quibble)!

https://forum.qbittorrent.org/viewtopic.php?t=5741

I don't know if this has come up before, but I know I couldn't possibly be the only one having that problem, and this seems to be the easiest fix, assuming that your ports were properly forwarded to begin with.

There's a link to the older version from Sourceforge in that thread.

*I should add that if you do this, it means you can't update it, and you'll probably want to turn off the awful update pop up which is under settings > behavior in the newest versions. When you downgrade, it will keep your settings, but you might have to input the port you have forwarded, so take note of that before you re-install.

Thanks for heads-up.

I am, however, using qBt 4.5.0 with no issues you've highlighted. Just saying.

Awesome. There could be other factors involved here, such as the router we are using, but since I posted this, my ratio went up 13 pts on Dime, which was the site that was blocking me from connecting. I didn't have an issue here, but they dont have these handy forums on Dime, and most of us here use both sites.
