Upload Speed > Locked ?
Ok....Here is my deal.
I have Bellsouth Fast Access DSL. The fastest one they offer. I Can download shows at over 200kb when they break but NO MATTER what I can only upload at 28-30k !!?? I have followed all the tips and opened my ports and did the little test that shows I am not blocked and such. WHAT can I do do increase my upload speeds ?? It is KILLING my share ratio. I can seed all day and barley go up a point or two. Any help or ideas?? Thanks in advance, Datfly No members have liked this post.

Re: Upload Speed > Locked ?
Have you ever done a speed test to see what you are really getting from your ISP? I have DSL and only get 50 up, but I used to only get 32 up. That's not an uncommon upload rate. I think my download is 275 or so. It's very common for people to get upload rates much lower than their download rates.
Go to the Bellsouth website and try their speed test and see what you are actually getting.

Re: Upload Speed > Locked ?
sounds like your DSL upload cap is 364Kb/s. Try going over to dslreports.com and doing a BW Speed test with nothing else running. It will give you a pretty good idea of what your max up and down but my guess is your capped at 364Kbs which is not uncommon...

Re: Upload Speed > Locked ?
I'm surprised your download is "only" 200Kb/sec. DSL is quite often faster than that on the download. 384Kb/sec. upload is about average for DSL. I've seen packages higher at up to 768Kb/sec., but you'll usually pay through the nose for that speed.
Of course you have no control over what they offer though, so unfortunately you have to take what they have. Your upload rate looks ok unless BellSouth claims you should be getting more. I'd ask about the download rate though. It looks a bit low for DSL. Do like the others said and try an online speed test, but the best way to know is to call BellSouth and ask them what your particular package is supposed to be. Keep in mind though, that you won't get exactly what they claim. At bewst you'll get slighlty less due to overhead "built in" to the system. No members have liked this post.
