Extreme noob question: how to burn DVDs?

Sorry for the dunce-cap question, but how do I burn dvds from the videos I've pulled from this site (video_ts, etc..)? Windows DVD maker doesn't recognize the formats, but they play fine in VLC.

Is there freeware I can use or should I buy/dl someting like nero or roxio:toast?

My needs are pretty simple in the dvd burning category and don't think I need to drop cash on one of those cumbersome programs, but should I?

Many thanks for the help. This site is pretty amazing.

Cheers -Paul

Re: Extreme noob question: how to burn DVDs?

1. download video
2. you dont need to do anything
3. choose a burn program OR just copy the VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS and/or EXTRAS_TS directories & burn to DVD

Re: Extreme noob question: how to burn DVDs?

From the apps you mentioned, I assume you use Windows.
In which case, just download the free Imgburn & use it to burn the contents of the video_ts dir to a disc.

Imgburn is the only burning app I have used for a longtime, ditched Nero long ago.
