Ive been trading for many years and good manners is what it all is about. after every trade people would thank each other forsending the discs, most of the time people traded an equal amount of discs which is fine, the same rule should be applied at torrent sites I think.

I'm really pissed at the current trend on ttd and similar trackers for lossless recordings, people seem to forget how it all should help us aquiring new shows without paying big money for the postal services. I really dont mind if someone has uploaded only 10gb while he downloaded 20gb, no big deal as upload speeds can suck anus. but most of the time people with extremely shitty ratios(e.g 1gb up, 100gb down) are the first to jump off when they finished a download, which makes me really angry at some point. I'm getting more and more reluctant to seed any more shows myself these days, due to many thing that annoy me too much, inlcuding bloody asshole leechers.

that being said i reckon it's time to seed my latest master now...

I don't usually care about this thread, and what ratio people with 10 GB downloaded have, but i found this guy by accident, and he really deserves a mention.
How someone can have such a bad ratio, over 300 GBs d/led and not even thank a single person for uploading a show.

I think sometimes people just look at the ratio and not the actual stats. Those stats posted: 13.21 GB/51.98 MB/0.00 are vastly different than these: 130.21 GB/510.98 MB/0.00 He is a newbie and sometimes you download your first couple of shows and don't have any leechers to give back to.

i don't understand all the "unselfish" and "friendly" sharers who then complain if someone doesn't do the same thing. Life's about much more than making sure your upload ratio is high and thus getting a rubber stamp of approval from some people in an internet forum.

i try with how much i think is reasonable - i keep my dls seeding as long as i have disc space, but my connexion is not fast enough to be among the first to finish, and usually i jump on a new torrent kinda late so i almost never get the share to over 1 no matter how much i wait - on a few torrents i've managed. (Also it seems to me that for whatever reason, when someone is downloading, miraculously he might be getting at 10kbps from me when i'm alone seeding, but when someone else jumps on it his speed goes to 50 or whatever and my share of that is still only 10...no idea why, when i have 20-30kbps of free bandwidth.) And i've never jumped off a torrent with someone downloading where i'm the only seeder.

Even ppl who really won't share, probably have some inner reason for it, other than "being selfish assholes" - and so what if they don't? What's it to you? You really spend your life worrying about other people's doings and not-doings? Get a life. If they don't share that's their business and it's up to them to decide what to do with their lives. If you wanna share, share, if not, don't. Simple. i'm against all forms of fascism and socialism - and that's what forcing other people to submit to "reasonable guidelines" really comes down to - control.

Life is not, in any way shape or form about 1:1 ratio, in any respect on individual basis - if you can't figure that out, good luck with the rest of your life being a DECENT person. People who try to FORCE decency and goodwill are the most fascistic of all.

The only people that ever make these kinds of excuses & arguments over ratio are those with one far below 1.0.

I am not so sure about that. Sometimes one can't judge simply by the "ratio" number. Especially if it is between .5 and 1, as in the post above.

I have a poor uplink. I constantly loose the ability to share back to those seeders with faster connections. I download unusual shows and few want them afterwards. On dime I have specialized to serving those torrents that everybody else has dropped as I tent to enjoy the more obscure things that quickly get dropped by most. so I serve about a couple of shows a week that I am the only seeder of. That is the only way I can keep an acceptable share ratio at all. I am still picking up more shows than I am able to share back (less then 1 ratio) but it would be a shame to pass on some that for sure will disappear for ever if I don't pick them up. I know this for sure. Once a year for 1 month I am on a fast connection (guess where, Germany has the best connections, lol). And then its obvious how I then have no problem to catch back up.

I am *not* a leacher. I have shared for 20 years. I have worn out numerous Dat machines running trees and doing B&Ps in datheads days. I keep all the shows in original form. Been lossless since day one. If doing B&P is a way for me to inprove my ratio, please I will do b&p no problems but credit would be nice. How do I go about this?

Now the tradersden domain name trouble:

I was busy and did not realize what happened. I thought my seeds had fallen of the tracker or ?? and deleted the torrentfiles and then I realized it was all the traderden files !!
So then I found out the site was gone and rediscovered it. so now all my tradersden shows are disconnected and have moved to the backup drive. If anyone sees my offers to reconnect them and no one else is there to seed please drop me a mail with the torrent link and I will hook you up

Also thanks to the moderators from me for providing these places and dealing with the current troubles.

You might want to consider letting those obscure shows drop off the trackers and then reseed them 6 months later, you will get a better ratio for being the uploader and perhaps draw new interest to the obscure show.
