Lynne, I'm very confused as to what the topic is. On page 12 of this thread http://www.thetradersden.org/forums/...=25339&page=12 I was the subject. Of name and shame. Has something changed that I'm not aware of. I'm really trying to abide by the TradersDen official bi-laws.

If you read the start of the thread, it was to point out users with very low share ratios who were continuing to download everything and anything. It is because of this thread that I put in some conditionals regarding how many shows you may download at a time based on your ratio. See this FAQ about that. Then the thread mutated to be about users with low ratios who have downloaded quite a bit. You got pointed out by someone to be one of those users. So, OK, that's it. Nothing more, nothing less. That doesn't mean you need to say a thing, all it means is someone feels you have a low ratio.

If you want to post in this thread pointing out users with low ratios then feel free to, but don't use this forum as some new Kinder and Gentler Lounge. That's not going to happen. The Mods have been removing your posts because that seems to be what you are trying to do. I have asked them not to for now and said that I will start asking you to post on-topic or not post at all. I even took my whip back from Heather so I could get serious about this. I have suggested you hit the Ignore button in this thread (under Thread Tools) if you can't seem to just ignore this thread on your own. If you aren't willing to do that and you need help staying out of this thread, or forum, I can just push a button and help you with that.

Could be, but I know he jumped off as soon as he finished d/ling a couple of my recent torrents. So even if that is a mistake, he is still an uberleecher who I think is deserving of this thread.

I think it is more amazing than impossible. I have seen people download before and upload next to nothing. They must cap their upload at 1 kb/s... max. Why they would do this, I don't know, but I really have seen some users get these sort of ratios on torrents and then I look at their profile and see it isn't just my torrent, but everyone's torrent that they do so poorly on. I just give their screen profile the evil eye and say "karma, dude, karma."

I just find it hard to believe that someone can download 1000 GB in a little more than a year and only give back 40 GB.

I think it takes effort to have that poor of a ratio. You cannot just naturally make it that poor. You have to cap your upload, and have your client set to disconnect as soon as you finish the download, otherwise you would have a much better ratio.

Why people like this are even allowed to stay on a tracker are beyond me.....they do nothing short of serving ONLY themselves....probably burning the discs and selling them at trade shows or on a crappy website.

The problem is that it is very difficult to get rid of them. If I ban them, they just sign up under another name. If I IP ban them, they simply click a button to get a new IP (that's all I have to do) or come in through a proxy. I figure it's better for us all to see the stats on him. Which is worse, a guy with 1 GB downloaded and 40 MB uploaded or the guy with 100 GB downloaded and 4 GB uploaded? I know that makes a difference to how I see someone's ratio.
