Wow I thought my ratio was bad, this thread makes me feel a lot better.
 The only reason why mine is so out of whack, I can download at like 300KB/sec but I can only upload at 40KB/sec... Would love to change that somehow... How do these guys with such a fast upload speed do it?

I maintained mine downloading at 700k & uploading at 40k. Then actually increased it slightly d/l at 1.3M while uploading at 130k.

I think most leechers are ignoring this ridiculous thread. I'm surprised that the Trader's Den staff allow this to go on. This site has no ratio requirements, yet the staff let's member's belittle other members. Great community guys.

Why is it they have no problem downloading hundreds of gigs, but can't upload at all? Seems a little suspicious I'd say
And as we've pointed out numerous times, there's other ways to "give back" if ya don't have decent u/l speeds -- they can easily offer B&Ps or freebies via snail mail for new traders Otherwise it just sounds like a lot of gimme gimme excuses...just sayin No members have liked this post.

You are aware of the existence of asymmetrical internet connections, right? Direct result of that, and it magnifies even more with such slow speeds.
At that speed everything factors in, time, speed, power bills, the choice of torrents you seed and predicting their popularity outcome. Everything. It's simply not fair to seed your torrent at max speed (mine used to be 7kb/s) just to see the other seed get your peer done in 30 minutes. I had to seed for 5+ days straight just to get it to 1:1, and hope that no one would lend a hand.  I did all to keep my ratios up, seeding strategies (get it early, seed later, looking at the personalities of potential downloaders, just to be there when they connected, etc), everything. I went great lengths to get a proper ratio, and never could.It's simply not fair. As for B&P, sure, but it really depends on your personal circumstances. Mine are specially annoying, exchange rates, poor (or no) mail system, lack of appropriate recordable media at decent prices, and let's not take away the fact that I'm a poor student with a Zeppelin fixation to begin with. You got no idea until you live here. No members have liked this post.
