Question about Flac fingerprint errors.....
Can someone plz explain how/why I'm getting flac fingerprint errors on files that a few months earlier checked out 100%? This is annoying the frickin' h*ll out of me!!! All files in question were checked and double checked upon download to ensure there were no errors but when I did a random check the other day random files in multiple dirs showed errors. If anyone has had or is having this problem plz share your exeriences/suggestions to help prevent it from happening again.............

Re: Question about Flac fingerprint errors.....
Did you tag the files? I think if you do that, then the fingerprints change and you will get errors. (I could be wrong since I never tag my files after download.)

Re: Question about Flac fingerprint errors.....
tagging the files will affect md5 checksums only, never ffp or st5, no sweat there
twreck try running 'test mode' on the files itself and let us know what the result it. use flac frontend or tlh

Re: Question about Flac fingerprint errors.....
Which makes sense since the fingerprints are only looking at the music. Bad Lynne.

Re: Question about Flac fingerprint errors.....
Or the memory. I bought some new memory about a month ago, put it in, and suddenly some of my shows were not passing checksum tests. I then had a kernel panic, called the place I bought the memory from, and got the memory replaced and now all is fine.

Re: Question about Flac fingerprint errors.....
Thx for all the replies
To answer your questions: No, I haven't tagged the files after I downloaded them (I never do - I just leave them exactly as they are) Yes, I did use FLAC Frontend testmode as well as TLH - same results. Error message: Got error code 2:FLAC__STREAM_DECODER_ERROR_STATUS_FRAME_CRC_MISMATCH When I listen through the files any errors etc are inaudible (at least my ears). It's a major pain in the butt to try and locate and re-download the affected files.......... No members have liked this post.

Re: Question about Flac fingerprint errors.....
when you play back some tracks that aren't decoding properly, can you play the very very end parts of the files?
Maybe if you could safely move some of these FLACs that are not testing okay yet sound fine over to another computer then try testing them there? that's the best I can come up with at the moment, so you could test the 'bad memory stick' theory.
