Burning on a Mac
What is the best way to go from FLAC to a CD-R on a Mac?
I usually go FLAC > xAct > AIFF > iTunes > CD-R Is there a better way? No members have liked this post.

Re: Burning on a Mac
Well, I use Toast, which will burn from flac files. But, Toast is not free.

Re: Burning on a Mac
I go FLAC > MacFlac > WAV > Toast > CD-R

Also, I'd strongly suggest getting xACT. It's an all-in-one application for just about all your lossless needs.

i'm not sure how its burning "accuracy" compares with a program like Toast [which is what i use as well]...i do know that iTunes extraction/ripping is shite compared to xACT...even with its supposed "error correction mode" No members have liked this post.

Re: Burning on a Mac
I've got xAct so I'm in the cool group.
And to think I've spent all this time converting FLAC to WAV prior to burning with Toast. Reminds me when I first started burning music, I didn't know that Nero (back in my PC days) automatically put a 2 second gap in between tracks. To this day I have a number of discs with that 2 second gap.

Lynne, I've been using iTunes 4 for the past (almost) 5 years and never get gaps. Even after checking for them in Audacity......nothing. BTW, I use this path for decoding/burning......FLAC/APE/SHN>xACT>wav>iTunes>cdr. John No members have liked this post.
