Kinda working- but not really
FRUSTRATION!!
Well it took some months but SOMEHOW (I'm not exactly sure) I was FINALLY able to upload a show. Several months ago I attempted to reconnect with the BT community after being completely shut out for about 12 years. But again I am running into issues. Unable to upload a second show! I can download and help seed- but my attempted upload just shows as "stalled" when i try to download it from myself. I followed the same procedures for preparing the files and torrent file as the first successful upload. Things I HAVE done- 1) Port forwarded 6881-6890 2) Port forwarded 5 random numbers (example- 54321) in a higher range. This was suggested in a few google searches/ask AI for help. 3)I recently re-set (to original default) all my firewall/security settings. I figured that I probably F'd up something last time i was messing with them. 4) I deleted completely - then re-installed qBittorrent and allowed it to do it's thing with the firewall exceptions. Low-and-behold it started to work!! Uploaded a Whiskey Myers show! YAY!! Then I tried to upload on another tracker and FAIL. BUT- downloading and seeding what i leeched is working. WTF!??! 5) OF Note- I have Fiberoptic cable and am running on the wi-fi from that. QUESTIONS- 1)Eithernet cable? I can hook directly into the router. 2)Something about the fiberoptic? 3) On all of my torrents running qBittorrent lists the "tracker status" as Working... and yet the last attempt to upload (or really download to start seeding) is "stalled" 4) I believe (LOL!?!) that changes have to be made while I am on my own home router (because of the port-forward issues) BUT- is this completely true? Would someone be able to help me with Firewall/windows security issues at a different location? (if that is the problem- witch I'm not to sure at this point) I believe I am at a point where I know/understand just enough to screw things up even worse. Most all the resourses are either just a few steps more advanced than i understand, or wildly outdated. I'm even considering paying and trying to let GeekSquad remote access so that they can trouble shoot it, but almost no-one is familiar with bittorrent... Where should I start? Any good (up to date) resources that are old-person friendly? (like explaining it to your mom who still has a flip-phone) SORRY SUCH A LONG POST- im home on temp disability and havent been taking my ADHD meds. THANKS so much for being patient!

Re: Kinda working- but not really
Don't bother with all that port forwarding bullshit. Better than average chance this site will show you as firewalled no matter what you do. But obviously you're doing something wrong. I've uploaded over 4000 shows and never once had one say it was "stalled".
Did you enter the correct tracker ID?

Re: Kinda working- but not really
Yes...at least, to the best of my knowledge. Copy-paste right from the Upload page. ALSO- when i tap on the "Tracker" button at the bottom, all the different things that it checks says "Status- working". I used to use utorrent (LONG ago... 13-15 years ago) and it was wonderful. I tried the "free" version, but the ads were just too much. I'm running qBittorrent now, but I might trythe cheapest pay version. It would be so worth it IF it worked.
