Question Synology NAS for TTD torrent seeding

I would like to move completed TTD .torrents and data files from my Mac to a Synology NAS.

The goal is to make the Synology NAS serve the torrents and also hold the completed data so I no longer need to keep my Mac powered on.

The NAS is on 24/7 and the TTD community would benefit from permanent seeding for sure!

AFAIK there are two torrent clients for DSM: Transmission (package by Synocommunity) and Synology's own DownloadStation, which also uses Transmission it seems.

Any suggestion or past experience to share?

Thanks

Normally torrent programs using network drives have to be speed limited to not overload the network connection. But if the app runs on the NAS itself and gives you a WebUI, it should work well. In a few months, post how it's going.

Re: Synology NAS for TTD torrent seeding

Thanks xavier242,
yes the Torrent App has a UI and I will manage UL speeds in order not to clog the network since is used for SOHO also.

During the night (CET) speed will be higher, of course.

I will report in a few days if moving the .torrents and data will be successfull.
