Please Explain Rule 10: Types of Md5 Checksums

I'm new to sharing bootlegs as torrents. I would like to share some of my shows that I don't see available on this tracker. I don't want to make a mistake on my first upload and rule 10 is scaring me.

I have a show in shn format that I downloaded that has 3 folders, and each folder has a "wholefile md5 checksum". They all verify with traders little helper. Is this sufficient, or do I need to create my own st5 checksum with traders little helper. If so, is this supposed to be for every file in the torrent (info text file and the existing md5s) or just the audio shn files.

Re: Please Explain Rule 10: Types of Md5 Checksums

yes you have to create st5 for only the shn files, then copy the results to the txt file as well.

while you're at it you could also convert to preferred flac format, then create st5 for those files and check that it matches then just keep the flac files, update the lineage with SHN > TLH > FLAC in the lineage etc. it is still okay to seed shn with st5 if you want too.

post questions for clarification etc. helps to mention specific shows. welcome to ttd

Just coming back to this now. Thanks for the tips. I realize that the best solution is to convert to flac.
