A few years back I had the chance to borrow some U-matic AKA 3/4 inch video tapes that were band interviews on a TV show from the company that aired it. I had a couple people try to transfer them but they got garbled and looked bad. An expert in the field mentioned "baking" said tapes to restore the film. They are from the late 90's, MTV interviews. Any advice? Not looking to spend money on a rig but I do know someone with a U-matic player. Thanks!
