Re: RIP Freezer
I guess i was one of the lucky ones then....he was always very nice to me.
But i never once asked him for anything even after he told me of all his masters. I think the biggest thing that happend early on was the fact that some of his recordings were bootlgged on lp back in the day almost as fast as he released them. From everything i've read, that really got to him, especially when he was unable to figure out "who" was the one who was giving his recordings to the bootleggers. Now hopefully those that possess low gen copies of his recordings will share them again. RIP Arthur "Freezer" Par.....and may the music you recorded and shared with us live on in your honor. Now who's got that Baton Rogue 77 show?? ;-) lol! |

Re: RIP Freezer

I'll call shenanigans. |

Re: RIP Freezer
I quoted the obit earlier. It's legit.
Others have seen it as well. You just need to know his full name & where he lived. And no, I'm not posting a link. |

Re: RIP Freezer
I'm pretty sure it is legit unless he plans to have a jack-in-the-box pop out of his casket during the viewing or some other twisted plan (with microphones taping the whole affair).

His funeral is Saturday. I was told by the friend who arranged the ride with him to the Alice Cooper show in 1990.

Re: RIP Freezer
Someone who knows Freezer also might know who the artist was but the one of funniest things he told me over the phone one time was how he stealth taped a major N.O. area artist in jail with correctional officers standing pretty much next to him while doing it. For the record he wasn't incarcerated but opened the show for him, they were playing for inmates there at the time.

Re: RIP Freezer
Same here, I plan to leave a few nice words about him for his family either on the obit or the funeral home site.

Re: RIP Freezer
Too bad. Rest in peace. I hope he never got to have his backyard cassette bonfire before he died, like he wanted to...

Freezer will never die; his tapes will live forever as well.

Re: RIP Freezer
What a shame. Only ever emailed with him a few times (he was a character, huh?) but enjoyed several of his recordings. RIP, Freezer.

Re: RIP Freezer
Back in 09 we had a conversation which he wanted kept confidential and it has been and will always be confidential and it totally changed my assumed attitude towards him. very sorry to hear of his passing.

Re: RIP Freezer
I just hope that McCabe and his bunch of loonies aren't trying to contact the family to inquire about his old master tapes...
