utorrent on 2 computers with 1 router

Being of the technology challenged generation my question might seem stupid but here we go; got my 1st laptop and would like to use utorrent. Have utorrent set up on desktop so is it possible to use it again with laptop sharing the same router- desktop is wired connection and laptop would be wireless.
thanks

Yes, your desktop should be port forwarded thru your router. Do the same for your Laptop. You will need to know your ip address for your laptop. Install utorrent on the laptop. Copy a torrent file to your laptop and u should be good to go.

As stated yes you can. Simply setup a static IP on your laptop as you did on your desktop. Make sure you setup a different port on utorrent on your laptop, port forward that port number on your router, and make an exception on your anti virus program on your laptop.

Just a question?? Why? Two different accounts would be a good answer? But you will be sharing your bandwith within your network not doubling it?

Maybe the poster wants to listen to music on his laptop also without burning a CD. When he is away from the network he can listen off his hdd. I also have utorrent installed on my wireless laptop but don't use it to often.

Re: utorrent on 2 computers with 1 router

if you own an integrated wireless/router you wont have any firewall issues.
if you own a router and a separate wireless access point .. you'll be firewalled on the wireless side.
