Video authoring gaps

This is a noob question but what's the acceptable method for filling in gaps of video where you have audio?

I ask because I've been pulling youtube videos from Phish 2010-07-04 and syncing them up with an audio recording. This is my first attempt at video editing. Things were going well until after Mockingbird, I cannot find enough video between Mockingbird and Camel Walk. It's about 20 - 30 seconds where Mockingbird ends before Camel Walk begins.

I've thought about just putting in a clip from the Lawn that's not from that song but you can't really tell what's going. I also thought about putting in a slideshow. I saw that the guy from the Furthur show from 2010-02-23 put in a mandelbrot animation but I have no clue how to do this. I guess the other option is just not have it flow.

This is what I've done so far:

Star Spangled Banner

PYITE

Forbins > Mockingbird

Forbin > Mockingbird is probably my best effort, IMO.

best thing is to just put pictures from the show or from another show.

Why don't you just contact the youtube poster and get a copy of the show?

Why is it that people who post stuff on youtube are so reluctant to share the footage they have in a decent quality. I have tried lots of times to contact uploaders and offered to trade stuff but you never ever get any response from them.

most of the folks who post on youtube aren't "tapers" in the sense we use the word...they don't trade or torrent, many don't even author to DVD...they have the recording master and they transfer/compress to youtube quality, thats it
