DVD question. (Burning one chapter)
Okay, so I'm torrenting a DVD off another tracker. However, theres only one chapter of it I really interested in, is there a way to burn only that one to the DVD? (Tom Petty obsession )
Not sure how the chapter thing is set up quite as of yet, but I have programs that let me edit the VOB file. Thanks! P.S. Only freeware/open-source, please! I'm stingy. No members have liked this post.

Re: DVD question. (Burning one chapter)
if you have an editing program then just take the one .VOB that contains the chapter that you want and just edit what you don't want out. watch out for your specs (don't want to lossy it up) and burn.

Re: DVD question. (Burning one chapter)
DVDShrink will allow you to extract 1 chapter (or as many chapters you like) and will not recompress the VOB file.

Re: DVD question. (Burning one chapter)
Thank you! It seems to be working. Happily for me, there's proper chapters.

Re: DVD question. (Burning one chapter)
Another program you might want to consider (if there aren't proper chapter points) is VideoReDo. It's not freeware, but you can download a full 30 day trial version from http://www.videoredo.com/
It will allow you to cut up a DVD in any way you like. It's even frame accurate. And of course there is no re-encoding performed (well perhaps a couple of frames may be affected depending on where you cut a video) Definitely worth looking into No members have liked this post.

Re: DVD question. (Burning one chapter)
Apart from the 30-day trial, there are other ways you can 'sample' a program before deciding whether you want to purchase it.
Hint: It involves using the same protocol you use to get your music. No members have liked this post.
