Too Many Trolls?
Maybe it's just me, but it seems that more and more often I am attacked by those known as "trolls" who have no intention of downloading your torrent upload or listening to the samples to compare sound quality. Their only purpose on your thread is to complain about how much of an idiot you are and that you should stop doing what you're doing.
Has anyone else encountered this arrogant folk and if so, should there be some sort of penalty for constant negative postings that are usually redundant in nature?

Trolls are best ignored. Usually they feed off of getting a response. I've always been of the mind to leave the comments, not reply, and let them be seen as the idiots they are. That's not to say I haven't occasionally sent a PM to one when I noticed excessive idiotism.

Sometimes the "troll" is providing information that is important to others who might be considering the torrent. They may have greater knowledge than most and can impart some of this knowledge to the readers of the thread. They might only be considered a "troll" by those who don't like what they're reading.

I had a guy who I wouldn't consider a troll post that Buddy Guy was an "average" guitar player. What do you suggest we do to someone like that - shoot him?

 dorrcoq: That's not what I'm talking about at all. Someone's opinion of a guitar player's ability is not blatant abuse on a thread or on the uploader of the thread. No members have liked this post.

there's a certain fetish for untampered sources at this site... I can see both sides of it: some people like what you do, others hate it. everybody deserves to have a voice so just take it in stride or seed on another tracker where the mods delete any post that isn't perfectly friendly.
