How do You catalog your collection?
Hi
I'm looking to get a new program to help organize all my CD's & DVD's. I currently us OrangeCD. It is OK. It uses FreeDb for its database. Unfortunately it does not recognize 90% of the disks I put in there. I end up having to manually enter all the info. I was wondering if there was a program that might allow me to burn to CD, and have a database pick it up immediately? I understand there are so some awesome obscure boots on this site that I should not expect to be in any database. I would like to share what I have, but it is a major undertaking getting everything organized. Any and all suggestions are welcome. Thanks No members have liked this post.

Re: How do You catalog your collection?
I use Music Label and find it very good. Recognizes cd text too which can be helpful. Check it out here: http://www.codeaero.com/

Re: How do You catalog your collection?
i also use orangecd - pain in the ass - it needs to be associated with Gracenote
if you go to the following link and download the program it will recognize most all of your bootlegs. only problem is you have to burn your music to cd before it willl recognize them. it can't do directly from files. another pain in the ass. it's all i got for you. good luck - i am doing same thing.all by hand. takin forever. ![]() http://www.base40.com/cdtDownload.html

Re: How do You catalog your collection?
This may sound dumb, but is there an FAQ for how to create, add shows and view your list?

Re: How do You catalog your collection?
Tase2 no there are no known fags to this that i know of.
try that program on the link i gave you - it works very good. also you can go directly to http://gracenote.com/music/ to look up just like using the etree database. that program i show above will find the info for you as long as you are putting in discs. as you said you alsready have the music burned on cd - so this should work.

Re: web host for my trading list?
I use www.phishhook.com. It has an export feature so you can store a backup copy of list locally, just in case.

Re: web host for my trading list?
I use http://2ip.com/. If you just want to upload your HTML files it is really easy, or you can create you site with the creator. I spent a while looking around for who offered the best package overall and this came top of the list. Top of my list, anyway. Maybe because it is free....

Re: web host for my trading list?
I don't know crap about HTML so I use tapetrader. It's easy to set up, to add, to edit, and to provide all sorts of info. You can provide setlists, too. You can add all necessary info conveniently.
