Are we allowed to upload HD > .Mov-files on TTD?

Greetings all the mods and helpful people of the TTD.

As you might know I am a long time audio and video taper from Sweden who has taped for close to 30 years now.

When I asked the mods on Dime about sharing .Mov-files (video files from Zoom recorders or Iphone recorders) they said that they don´t allow it. It had to either be remuxed (without losing any bitrate or such) to MP4 or MKV or such.

Would it be allowed here on TTD?


If I would speak for my and others that tape videos in HD-1080p in .Mov...these are my honest remarks:

1) I can with ease play the .Mov-files on:

- VLC Player
- Windows Media Player
- Stream on the TV with HDMI from my computer
- Stream the Youtube version of my uploads on the computer or on the TV set.


So, Would I be allowed to upload my HD .Mov-masters here or not?

it would be great if they would allow you an others to upload the files you have taped as .mkv .ts or regular DVD or BRD thanks for youre hard work like myself its our lives and we want to share what we can..

from what i see you're files should be allowed and shared as its your own recordings and lossless and sharing is caring ... aka sharing in the groove
