Re: trying to do this right

I think I know what your getting at august west. After grabbing a bunch of awesome shows that are "mature"... meaning they have been around for a while - it's time to start thinking about the old ratio. I will sometimes jump on a fresh torrent and ride the wave just to get the extra bump to my ratio. I still grab shows I think I'll like, but I try to jump on them when they're new and stay on them til they die down. A couple of popular torrents can make a big difference. Then it's not so bad to hop on the older ones. You know... sometimes resistance is futile!

Maybe you could upload a show from your own collection? That way you'll be able to easily improve your ratio and offer something new to the community.

By the way, definitely keep seeding those old shows - you will be thanked when a late straggler comes along and is looking for a seeder.

Adding a thank you (or other) comment to an old torrent will bump it to the top of the appropriate forum, eg Audio Torrents or Video Torrents (but NOT the Torrent List), which may generate further interest in that torrent if someone sees it and thinks to themselves, "How the hell did i miss that? Must jump on it straight away!"
