Sample Rate Question

I'm editing some music in soundtrack Pro. I have five options of saving the Sample rates: 32000, 41100, 48000 (which is the default setting) , 88200 and 96000.

The end result is to have a CD-R of this music and if memory serves me right, I want to use a sample rate of 44100 - Right?

Re: Sample Rate Question

44.1kHz, 16bits, 2channels is the red book standard for CD encoding.

Re: Sample Rate Question

Thanks

But why would the program us 48 as the default setting? what's the benefit of using this setting over 44.1?

Re: Sample Rate Question

the standard for DVD is 48kHz, and 44.1kHz for CD...since Soundtrack Pro is designed for film/video audio editing, its default is set to 48kHz
