Re: Which version would you circulate?

circulate the normalized one. just make sure you do the entire show at once, not track by track. the levels are really low on the raw vers, if somebody has two shows lined up in their player the volume will either jump or drop tremendously and that's pretty annoying.

ps i would normalize it to -0.2db, but that's just me

I agree with Jamie in regards to the volume drop issue. I hate it when I have some live songs mixed in with commercial releases on my iPod and the volume suddenly drops. I then turn it up and then when the song is done, the volume goes back up and I freak!

ipods have a volume normalizing feature to make everything the same volume but I don't like it because it brings all the volumes down. I forget what it's called though.

Re: Which version would you circulate?

Google tells me that this may be the setting (which I've never used, but may try out in the kitchen where the speakers have their own volume control): Main Menu > Settings> Soundcheck ON

Edit: I believe you need to go to iTunes first Preference > Playback > enable Sound Check in order to get the software to make the proper settings which may then be used in your iPod.

Re: Which version would you circulate?

yeah that's what it's called but i found it brings all the levels down too much for my puny headphones (no amplifier)

Btw. - just a general question Jamie - if a recording is to loud what would you say is minimum for levelling it out (and I mean loud - not distortion).
