I am attempting to forward my ports. On the router setup page is asks for the LAN IP Address and the Protocol. For the Lan IP address, is that just my ip address or ? The protocol I should use is TCP?

Thanks....

Use this site to grab your IP http://www.whatismyip.com/tools/ip-address-lookup.asp because since you are using a router it is going to assign you a 192.168 address by default, however your actual IP address is totally different when going from the outside world coming in.

And then you want to set up the rule on TCP for your port range or single port (however you choose to do it).

Your 'external' IP address (the address the site above gives you) is totally useless for Port Forwarding. You need to use the IP address your Router gives you. You can find out your LAN address by going to your command prompt and then type in: ipconfig

You want the IP address that starts with 10.1.1.* or 192.168.*.*

Note: If your router is using DHCP to assign IP addresses, you may get a different address when you reboot your PC or reboot your router. Some routers allow you to keep the same IP address all the time. It is also possible to give yourself a static local IP address through Windows.

On the protocol question select both TCP and UDP
