Pretty sure this is lossy, but just want to get an opinion.

tough to tell from just that...if you could post some Spectral Analysis screens of approx 2 sec piece of the music it'd help

^^^ what he said...

but what you have posted looks fine, so far.

there are a few other factors to consider.

Thanks, trying to get the hang of this even after reading the stickys.
Would something like this be lossy:

Don't think so, but it looks weird.

both look lossless to me, but the second looks like it mighta had some sorta processing...a zoomed in ~2 sec sample of the SA would help more

I'm pretty sure that one changes audio sources multiple times during the recording, hence why it looks weird.

The SA in Audacity is pretty useless.

You need to an app like Cool Edit Pro 2.x or Adobe Audition to see the blockies.

That said, I think the first SA you posted is probably ok, but the second looks like it may be lossy.

the 2-3 second span is important, though.. you can't really see well enough when viewing the entire span of the track.

if you can't get a better SA to post, you can always just post a track and one of us will have a look, no problem.

As in around :07 to :17 it seems to switch sources. Listen to the audio, and you'll hear it.

Warning: This happens to be the concert that Dime (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dimebag_Darrell) was shot. The shots are audible in the recording.

G'day Elochai. The sample you provided is made up of 4, possibly 5 different sources. Check attachment.

As for this being lossy; not sure. Haven't seen this spectral before. It has definitely had some work done to it but don't know what.

Below is a 2 second grab.
