just ran across something i've never seen before...i'll try and post some screen shots when i get home later...

i've got a show that, when ran thru FA, has a sharp drop off between 11-13 kHz...everything above ~13kHz bounces on the floor [figuratively that is ;) ]...its got me puzzled

maybe someone here has run across this before...?

NOTE: this was one of those ? > CD(?) seeded on STG last year...it's an aphex twin show, so the "music" itself has strange freq patterns...however, this dropoff seems too drastic/constant to have NOT occurred in post-.

thanks

If you can post the FA and SA I'm sure you'll get some good comments and theories on it. Check the link in my signature for analysis software links if you need.

This is 100% lossy. Looks a little like an MD recording using the lowest quality setting (opinions?). I can't imagine this sounding very good.

might be low bitrate mp3 or a non-mp3 webcast just as well. but either way, I agree: definitely lossy and I can't really imagine this to sound good.

thanks ya'll...i was guessing MD, but webcast could be it as well...watching it through FA while listening to the tracks was quite peculiar, atleast i'd never seen anything like it...

as far as sound, yeah it ain't the greatest, but how many aphex twin shows are out there?!?! i need to definitely take it off my trade list though...

thanks again...slainte!
