I dont want to convert my downloaded FLAC files to any lossy formats, I simply want to make CDs out of them so I can listen in my car.
Any help? THanks from a complete newb..
If you have Nero, use the FLAC plugin to burn audio cdrs directly from FLAC:

If not, get FLAC frontend (linked in my signature), decompress to WAV, burn the audio cdr(s), delete the WAVs and burn a backup of all the original files you downloaded for future trading.
EAC is really great for burning audio cdrs, too.
If your burning software is nero, you will save yourself some time by burning directly from flac to cd, as five told you. I have been going straight from flac to cdr for 3 months now without a single problem.
If you don't have nero, then your best option would be to download eac and use it for burning, but make sure you have it properly configured. I think five has a link in his sig to the coaster factory which will take you step by step to properly configure eac. If you are using eac to burn, like five mentioned, you will first have to convert the flac file to .wav using flacfrontend. I try to avoid this method only because it takes a little more time to do but the results are the same with the two options mentioned.
It just depends on how much time you are willing to put in and what programs you have installed. If you have trouble send me a pm and I will walk you through the steps. The process isn't complicated but when you try it the first time, you may have questions.

Burrrn (http://www.burrrn.net/) can burn CDs directly from many formats, including FLAC and Monkey's Audio. It is a very nice free program.
burnatonce (http://www.burnatonce.com/index.htm?news) is also free, and can burn from FLAC files.

I recently aquired nero, but have never used it. I am interested in learning how to burn flac > cd. I've opened the program but am not sure which application to use. Would it be audio w/data? If anyone have a link please post me in the right direction. Thanks
Eric.
use "data" to backup the original files you dowloaded.
use "audio" to burn a cdr that will play in your car stereo.

Do you know where i can find the Window Frontend for Flac? The link in your sig doesn't work.
I tried the link in his sig. and it works fine, maybe try it again?
