ugh, havent seen anything that bad in quite a while.....does it sound like crap? it should since you have absolutely no high end at all.....
yes, that's really terrible. It's probably not good. The one thing left to do is to zoom in and check the spectral analysis for "blocks". There is a longshot that this is just a horrible, horrible noise reduction job. zoom in on about 1.5-2 seconds until you start to see block shapes in the spectral, if there's no blocks this is a really really really terrible lossless source.

that is zoomed isn't it

It doesn't look like a "lossy source" to my eyes. It looks like a severe lowpass filter, or simply a source that didn't have any bandwidth. Could be a really bad EQ or Noise Reduction. I've actually seen worse.
Is it horrible ? Yes. Torrentable ?, that would depend......

d'oh! So it is!
I don't see any blocks, so this is probably an uberbad nr job as far as I can tell. hopefully a better source will turn up.
what is this show?

Megadeth 1988-04-01 Miami Beach, FL. do blocks only appear when something is compressed down to mp3 that has the higher frequencies and nto when they are already gone? cus just for the sake of it i converted it to 192 mp3 and back and analysed and came out exactly the same. thanks for help :)

Pretty much. It has to do with the psychoacoustic algorithms that are used in lossy compression. They are mostly applied to higher frequencies.

I'll have to try this out. the blocks are a dead giveaway that a source is lossy, I'm not sure if it is possible to compress to lossy without getting the blocks but most certainly if the blocks are there the source is lossy.
