From a couple of pressed silver boots I acquired today - here's the first one (a Guns 'n' Roses show) - spec and frequency views attached. Please could everyone give me their thoughts on this one, and the next post in this thread (we're limited to three attachments per post, right?) which looks even weirder to my mind! The show that this analysis was performed on is from January 2001 and claims to be a SBD. The dropoff in frequency looks to be too high in frequency terms for "regular" MP3 source to my eyes, but I'm still a bit suspicious.

And here's the other one: a Queen show from 1985, source unknown. I've given it a very brief listen and the sound quality seems good so it could either be SBD or a very good AUD. But that frequency analysis looks very odd to me: again, could people more knowing than me please give their thoughts :)

If both these prove OK then I'll liberate them here.

They look fine to me.

they look okay to me, too.

the gnr one has something funny going on with it, tho. Looks like maybe it's from TV or even AAC audio from a DVD (??!!). This one might be worth further investigation, but not a 3-alarm fire or anything.

Thanks for the confirmation people. The GNR one is from Rock in Rio and a TV or FM source may make sense. As I recall, FM sources often show the frequency tail-off characteristic of MP3, but at a much higher threshold (less is lost).
