I just ran across this and it looks like it might be a decent analysis tool. Didn't notice it mentioned in the forums.

I tried it out for a few minutes, it seems only ok at very best. It's not easy at all to designate a length of view, color options are limited, output view is bad-bordering on terrible.

I got so frustrated that I gave it up. So if anyone is more patient than I, maybe you can find something more in it than I did.

I use Adobe Audition, which is the same program as Cool Edit Pro, just a name change.

According to the thread at the top of this forum, you can download the trial version of CEP, and even after the time runs out, use the frequency and spectrum tools.

I can't comment on this personally, I have a fully registered version that I use for recording as well as analysis. Good luck.
