Looks rather odd and the person I received this from lost the address of the taper.

I hope the screenshots are ok, if not I'll do new ones.

Looks more like mp3 to me. I miss the typical stairsteps of a md-recording (http://www.thetradersden.org/forums/showthread.php?p=172908#post172908). The frequency drop off is somewhat low.

I'd put money on MD.. look at the little upturned parapets on the blocks.

can you post a couple more sa zoomed in on the highest peaks (eg around 3:30 and that big spike around 2:10) and/or post this track via rapidshare.de or yousendit.com?

I'm not sure if it's the same track I took the screenshots from but from the same concert: http://s62.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=0E00EDGOU1SM11ZDZ56I8UOY7D

well, this is positively lossy and is not that great quality, if it is from md it is a more rare codec and a lower-quality setting. perhaps mp3 and md? really bad quality and not something I would like to recieve in a trade for sure.

it appears to have been on cdr, judging from the nature of some of the errors e.g. on this t06 from samples 5407418 to 5408005 (588 samples in length) it is an exact duplicate of the preceeding 588 samples (5406830 to 5407417) which is the exact length of a cdda sector and can be deleted (without smoothing) to perfectly restore that section (see the 3rd ss attatched)... there are other places where this phenomena can be seen as well.

here's a couple more close-ups...

thanks a lot for your answer.
And yes I received it as an audio cd and ripped it with EAC.

I'd agree, especially because these "parapets" come in intervals of 12ms which is typical of MD
