Typically people suggest PCs because of their ability to be upgraded in the future. I was throwing that out as caution. I have owned/built many PCs and it's pretty rare that anything gets upgraded. By the time you need something upgraded you can get the latest and greatest for cheap and it's usually not cost-effective to prop up stuff from the past. The ability to resell a used apple is definitely a plus. That market doesn't really exist in the PC world.

Re: mac v. pc

I got my pc for 350, an it runs torrents fine. It also runs some CPU intensive stuff like cubase with a load of add ons fine. Never used a particulary expensive mac but i personally like the look of windows more.
