So all in all, the sa "fingerprint" of a 48kHz "24bit" mp3 looks just like that of a 44.1kHz "16bit" mp3, only with slightly shorter blocks and "more nothing going on" at the top of the spectrum.

Good answer, good answer.....

Now the question is: IF a particular show is circulated in mp3 and it's ONLY available in mp3, how desirable is it, especially if it's 25 years old or more?

Also the white in the shot below is too clear (gamma value is 0.2). The blocks induced by the codec are finer than the ones of an mp3 but they are here.
What show is this?

good eye!

chunga1, what show is this?

Re: are these shots mp3??

I donīt know...

Three users at db.etree.org list this as "AUD > ? > DAT > CD-R"
We have some sort of flipped mirror image (in case this being thru 32kHz DAT), but not as "nice" as I've seen before. I wonder if there's a codec capable of encoding such weak signals, that there's a mirror image left after encoding...
sshamadhi?

To me this sounds overdriven, besides the metallic sound. This is mono too. I don't know much Stevie Wonder concerts (this is my first part of), but if I'm a fan of an artist and the show has some sort of "value" (f. e. I attended the concert), I would definitely look for the best version around - this includes examining different sources by eyes.
I respect the others out there searching for best versions of "their" shows.

Here's the same sample from page 1. I flaced it for you, so it's only 11MB, in case you're not on broadband. What do you think about this recording?
